I'm Débora Mumma, a proud Brazilian English Teacher and the founder of English in the US. As someone who believes in the power of language to bridge cultures and create opportunities, I've poured my passion into creating a unique English learning experience tailored for immigrants.

As I also live in the United States, I understand the challenges immigrants face when adapting to a new environment. With a background in education and a deep appreciation for diverse cultures, I founded English in the US LLC to provide a supportive and enriching learning environment. We aim to teach English and empower individuals to thrive in their new community.

The primary focus of our school is to teach the English language, specifically in the context of the United States. We are ready to help individuals who want to learn English as a second language through our programs focusing on the US's unique vocabulary, expressions, and cultural references. With years of experience as an English teacher, I am committed to fostering a warm, engaging atmosphere where every student's journey is valued. From improving conversational skills to mastering academic English, our programs are designed to meet the specific needs of immigrant learners.

Meet the Team

  • Debora Mumma

    The founder of English in the US and ESL Instructor at 3 colleges in New Jersey. Debora specialized in English for Immigrants.

    She studied English since childhood, started teaching at 16, and completed two exchange student programs. In addition to having a double major in English and American literature from Brazil, she also studied English Communications in a college in the US, where she has lived since 2018.

  • Larissa Benfatti

    English teacher and part of our teaching team, she caters to students of all levels in general English classes.

    Larissa holds a degree in Social Communications from the Regional University of Blumenau. She also has specialized training in language teaching abroad, including in the United States, Canada, and England, and has completed two exchange programs.

  • Arianne Bastos

    English teacher and part of our teaching team, she teaches General English and Business English and specializes in TOEFL preparation.

    Arianne holds a degree in English and American Literature from the Federal University of Goiás, where she was part of the "Idioma sem fronteiras" program while teaching the university community and assisting students in the TOEFL preparation.

  • Tatiane Bonassi

    English teacher who has been teaching since 1998 and has years of experience training teachers for Brazilian franchises.

    Tatiane is studying English and American Literature at UNIP and has completed two exchange student programs in the United States. In the US, she was also a student in a High School program.

  • Renato Azevedo

    English teacher with extensive experience teaching English for IT professionals and Business students.

    Renato also teaches in the "Pronunciation in the US" program, holds an international certification, CELTA and has lived in Australia.

  • Julia Vargas

    English instructor and part of our team conducting General English lessons and preparing students for the American Citizenship Test.

    Júlia has completed two years as an AuPair in the US, holds a background in Biological Sciences, is currently taking TESOL, and lives in the US.

  • Fernanda Lourenço

    teaches General English and instructs as a substitute teacher in the English Preparation program for Au Pairs.

    Fernanda has a degree in English and American Literature and a postgraduate degree in English Language Teaching. She participated in the au pair exchange student program in the United States for two years, where she continues to live and is currently pursuing her Master's.

  • Franciele Neres

    teaches General English, Business English, and Travel English to our students.

    Franciele holds a degree in Public Relations and is currently taking a Master's in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages. ⁠ She has been an exchange student in the US twice and has also acquired experience as a tutor in Europe.

  • Letícia Peromingo

    English Teacher and part of our teaching team, she teaches General English and prepares students for the AuPair exchange student program.

    Leticia is pursuing a degree in English/Portuguese and Literature and holds a Postgraduate Certificate in English Translation. She was an Au Pair for three years in the US and has a background in Fashion Design.

  • Larissa Mendes

    English instructor and part of our team conducting General and Business English lessons mainly for students living in Europe.

    Larissa holds a Marketing and Business Relations from the Irish college IBAT and a Certificate in TEFL. She was also an exchange student in Ireland and now lives in Portugal.
